King Of Hearts
A comedy cult classic remembered both for its whimsical comedy and its heart-wrenching anti-war message. Directed by Philippe de Broca ("That Man From Rio") and starring Alan Bates and Geneviève Bujold. Set in a small town in France near the end of World War I as the Imperial German Army retreats, leaving a booby trap that will destroy the whole town. When the locals flee, a gaggle of cheerful lunatics escape the local asylum and take over the town — thoroughly confusing the lone Scottish soldier who has been dispatched to defuse the bomb.
